Garden centers and plant nurseries sell annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, vegetables and houseplants, along with soil, mulch, fertilizer, pots and tools. Independent nurseries often grow part of their own stock and carry varieties that do well in the local climate, while big-box garden departments compete on price for common plants. Wholesale nurseries and growers sell to landscapers and sometimes to the public at volume prices; tree nurseries sell balled-and-burlapped and container trees and can deliver and plant large specimens. Specialty growers focus on bonsai, cactus and succulents, orchids or native plants, and hydroponics stores sell lights, nutrients and systems for growing indoors.

Been raising tomato plants to share with neighbors, family and friends for over 20 years. This year I ordered 9 different varieties from TGS and absolutely none of these new seeds germinated. In one half of the same containers I planted whatever I had left from years gone by and had 95-98% sprout. So I sent TGS a very calm and courteous email to which they replied they would get back to me in a couple of business daysβ¦Guess what, havenβt heard a word from them since. One other indication that things might not be right at TGSβ¦all packs marked β20 seedsβ had 17 or less. My business may not be important but donβt just blow me off! J. Harper

Purchased Early First Prize tomato seeds from this place for my 2024 garden. None of the 15 plants from their seeds were EFP tomatoes. They were some kind of determinant, yellow garbage. Purchased Liam's Brandywine tomato seeds for my 2025 garden. None of the 20 plants are Liam's. I don't make a living growing tomatoes, but this crap is too annoying. Won't be buying seed from these clowns for my 2026 garden.

First time ordering tomato and pepper seeds. I had to follow up with an email about a week after ordering to ask when my order would be shipped. They responded and it was shipped. Their websites says next day shipping... The pepper seeds germinated and produced good seedlings. The tomato seeds did nothing. After two attempts to germinate 12 seeds, I sent them a note and asked if I got bad seed. That was 2 weeks ago. No response. Tomato Growers Supply Company is off my list of good guys.

Ordered a bunch of seeds from this place last year for the first time and have mixed feelings about them. The National Pickling seeds were infected with something that looked like the Mosaic virus, the leaves were heavily mottled the growth was stunted compared to other varieties. Sent an email to customer service with pictures the plant and got 'Sorry for the experience. Thanks for calling it to our attention. There is no evidence that the virus is seed-borne.' No 'let us send you a refund, or let us replace those seeds'. Nope. Armenian Light Green cukes did not grow well at all while Armenian Green from a difference source grew really well. Paquime Hybrid Pepper, advertised as enormous grew to about 3" for me, nothing like on the pictures. Other jalapenos grew bigger for me. Other seeds from Tomato Growers did OK but I haven't tried them all yet so the jury is still out on those. Overall, not the greatest experience so I won't probably be ordering from here again.

Great quality seeds for good prices. Out of probably 100 packets of different varieties I've ordered so far I had 1 with terrible germination and 1 that was the wrong variety. They apologized and immediately sent me replacement seed plus some extra seeds which I wasn't expecting at all. I'm very happy with the seeds and the service.
